Gary S. Spellman, Cofounder

Gary Spellman is the super charged, dynamic co-founder of Ultimate Face Cosmetics. A strong work ethic emerged in Gary at a young age. However, a pivotal personal and professional moment occurred for Gary while working the door at one of the top night spots in Newport, RI ; he met and became friends with John Paul DeJoria. Thus his longstanding relationship with John Paul Mitchell Systems was born. During his 25 plus years in the professional beauty industry, Gary has performed many roles: field sales, sales management, sales trainer, distributor, manufacturer and salon coordinator, to name a few.

Gary’s commitment to excellence is not limited to the professional beauty industry… He is also serious about giving back. The annual Peace, Love, and Happiness Ride that he founded with his longtime friend, John Paul DeJoria has raised over a million dollars for the 100 Club of Central Texas (which benefits the orphans and widows of fallen peace officers). Among his many other charitable endeavors, Gary also finds time to protect the planet by serving on the board of several innovative companies such as Eco Out law, Tri Carbon Energy, and The Back Yard.

If he isn’t busy saving the planet, or practicing philanthropy… you can most likely find this dynamo racing his mountain bike competitively or shredding a mountain on his snow board. All of these activities, however, come a distant second to his family – son Dakota and his wife and Ultimate Face co-founder, Laurie Spellman.

Laurie B. Spellman, Cofounder

Laurie B. Spellman is the stylish and graceful cofounder of Ultimate Face Cosmetics. Laurie’s story begins in New Orleans, LA – the youngest of three girls raised as a Southern Belle. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Public Relations from Loyola University, Laurie went on to work in the fashion industry as a buyer for one of the most exclusive boutiques in New Orleans. With her finger on the pulse of fashion, Laurie set her sights on the beauty industry in 1987. Laurie was hired as a Salon Consultant for the New Orleans distributor of John Paul Mitchell Systems, and after winning a National Sales competition was offered her own territory as a distributor. Eager for a challenge, she moved to Austin, Texas and opened Ultimate Salon Services in 1990. She was one of the company’s youngest distributors at the tender age of 24.

After meeting and marrying Gary Spellman in 1997 – it seemed this power duo had it all. Until Laurie stretched her creative wings, and Ultimate Face Cosmetics was born in 2002.

The creative force behind research and development for Ultimate Face, Laurie lives by the principles that she founded Ultimate Face under – Fashion*Education*Philanthropy. An active member of her community, her philanthropic endeavors include the annual Peace, Love and Happiness motorcycle ride that was founded by her husband, Gary. She also co-directed over 5 years - Lights, Camera… Fashion! as part of the Dennis Quaid Celebrity weekend benefiting several children’s charities. She has also coordinated charity fashion shows for Badgely Mischka, Dolce & Gabanna and Hugo Boss.

In January 2007 Laurie began the most exciting and rewarding chapter in her life with the birth of her son Dakota. With his daddy’s energy and his mommy’s eyes, Dakota (a native Texan) is a source of inspiration for much of Laurie’s creativity today.

Always seeking what’s new and exciting in the industry, don’t expect to see this lady slow down... as she continues to launch new products and new educational systems for her customers, artists, and the everyday women seeking to be Sexy, Versatile and Beautiful.

Why We Are Different:
Beautiful Cosmetics - Fantastic Value
Today, cosmetic sales average nearly $6 Billion annually. Most of these dollars come from over the counter vendors, be it drug stores or department stores. In a sea of choices, and contradicting advertising - how is a woman to decide which product is best suited for her? Ultimate Face believes that the best guide in the beauty jungle is the highly trained professional stylist or makeup artist. These glamour gurus can help a woman sort through their options based on a personal consultation and recommendations. The Ultimate Face business systems support the stylists by minimizing time and maximizing profits. Ultimate Face salons are able to provide celebrity level service to beauty loving clients who are not cash poor, but time poor. We help the professional stylist deliver a profitable experience that builds a loyal client base.
